As a motivational speaker and inspirational programs guide people often ask me" What do you do when you are discouraged or overwhelmed? " The answer is: I'm too busy to solve it, or feel overwhelmed. Many years ago, I wrote a poem, which reinforces my belief that everything in life is a journey, even if sometimes uphill.

Not Quit

If something goes wrong as they sometimes will.

If the road trudging seems all uphill.

When funds are low and the debts are high.

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you a bit.

Otherwise, if you must, but do not quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.

As each of us sometimes learns.

And many are about to fail.

When he had won, he had it out:

Do not give up when the pace seems slow --

You can succeed with another blow.

Success is failure from the inside out --

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt

And you can never tell how accurate you are.

It may be near when it seems so far:

So stick to the fight when the hardest hit --

It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

It is a universal law that if you do not quit, you'll achieve your goal, no matter where you go. It was said that Thomas Edison was asked how he felt no more than 100 times in his quest to invent the light bulb. Edison does not his experiments as "mistakes" he saw it as a success-100 ways how not to create a light bulb.

You too can the universal law "does not quit." If it does not work one way and others see a different, until you reached your destination, or have invented the next great light bulb.
